Gerald Speaks

Finally, I may have stumbled upon a blog that works, to express my voice.

ONE CLICK TO ANYWHERE

Welcome to my new blog designed like a directory, where you can go anywhere with just a click. I have decided to put all my blogs under one roof, thus turning this site into a magazine style blog. The main section is for general commentaries and daily observations while the sidebar are links to my other blogs for more in depth articles, just like the segments of a magazine. So now you won't have to miss a thing. Cool or cool?

Blogger Rocks with WP-Polariod theme

I have always loved the practicality of blogger. It is simple, effective, user friendly and it rocks, now with even more added features. Even the plain vanilla templates are often good enough and they look great when you change the header image. However, I felt the functionality could be improved with more columns, widgets, static pages and graphics. Well I got my prayer answered last week when I stumbler upon WP-Polaroid theme. By chance, I discovered there are actually other customised blogger templates that I can use. These include kick ass three column templates, complete with widgets, blogroll, and other really cool stuff. And the way to install them is by copying the XML code and insert in the page under Edit HTML. I remembered holding my breath when I pressed save to see if the magic appear, and voila, it worked and it was beautiful. Over the past few days, I tinkered with it, and asked for advice to make sure all the links work. At last I am so excited, to have a blog which is also a website, as it has a gray bar on top with static page links. Why do you need a website when you can have a blog? The only thing incomplete was the lack of links to go back to the editing mode, for example when you want to create a new post, go to dashboard, or sign out. Then I had an idea, why not create links to those functions in the gray box above, so I will always be able to move back and forth the view blog and editing mode for practical purposes. In the coming days, I want to make sure everything else works, and I am able to use this theme confidently, and even to set it up for others. I think in terms of functionality it rocks. And I am going to stick with this for awhile.
